Scope & Equipment
The Fire Department serves residences, businesses and farmsteads in a 66-square mile area. They maintain seven fire vehicles/equipment (two pumper trucks, two tankers, one rescue unit, a brush truck, and a personal van). Funding for the Fire Department comes from the City of Dyersville, the Dyersville Community Fire Department (other nearby rural communities) plus the department's own fundraising efforts.
Emergency Medical Support
Additionally, emergency medical support comes from the Fire Department through
Bi-County Ambulance. The Fire Department has 15 volunteers who are also trained as first responders and are trained to use the vehicle extrication tool owned by the department.
